Family Ledger collects information you choose to provide, including:
- Account information such as your email address and password credentials handled through Firebase Authentication.
- Profile information such as your name, birth date, phone number, address, notes, and other details you enter about yourself.
- Family record information such as names, birthdays, anniversaries, relationship labels, notes, tags, and reminder preferences that you save in the app.
- Device token information used to deliver push notifications you enable.
- Usage events, such as app opens and key feature actions, used to operate and improve the service.
- Questions you submit in the Ask Family feature and the family data required to generate those answers.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To store, sync, and display your family records across your use of the app.
- To send reminders and notifications you request.
- To answer questions through the Ask Family feature.
- To monitor app reliability, prevent abuse, and improve features.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
AI Feature Disclosure
If you use Ask Family, your question, recent conversation context, and relevant family data may be sent to OpenAI through our backend to generate a response. Do not submit highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable using it with this feature.
AI-generated responses may be incomplete or incorrect and should be reviewed by you before relying on them.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including:
- Google Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, and notifications.
- OpenAI for Ask Family responses when you use that feature.
We may also disclose information if required by law or if needed to protect the safety, rights, or integrity of the service.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Your Choices
- You can edit or delete family records from within the app.
- You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- You can stop using the Ask Family feature at any time.
- You can stop using the service by signing out, although some data may remain in backups or retained systems for a limited period.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Family Ledger is not directed to children under 13 as independent users. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to the service in violation of applicable law, contact the developer support contact listed on the app’s App Store page.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
